Most recently, Dota 2 turned 9 years since its release. No matter what anyone says, Dota is one of the most successful representatives of its genre, which, despite its shortcomings, still remains afloat and keeps good online performance.
As for me, its main disadvantage is the high entry threshold, which scares newcomers to this day. After all, to learn how to play it, you need to spend dozens of hours learning basic mechanics, hundreds of items and heroes.
But I assure you, it's worth it. I'm writing down this guide to sort out the main aspects of the game, and to help beginners overcome the initial difficulties, for a comfortable immersion in the fascinating world of dota, because once I myself was the same.
Main tasks
The most important goal of the game is quite primitive: to seize an advantage on the map and break the main enemy structure. But not everything is so simple. The battle takes place 5x5. Heroes are recruited who accumulate experience and gold, buy items with them. They fight among themselves and then finish the game, which can last on average from 20 to 40 minutes. But there are exceptions, in the form of games for 2 hours.
Roles
In Dota 2, there is a clear distribution of roles, which affects what priority you will have to earn gold. There are 5 types of them in totalKerry - 1 position:
The main character, who gets most of the farm. Usually weak at the beginning of the game, but by the middle he becomes the main character in the team who does the most damage and breaks enemy buildings. In order to win, the 4 remaining roles must create hothouse conditions for him to earn gold. He stands on an easy line with full support, which protects him and replenishes resources.Mider - 2nd position:
It costs 1x1 on the central line. The second priority is gold farming. His main task is to win the enemy mider by resources, and then go and shake the map. He is the strongest hero in the initial stage of the game, because he stands alone on the line, and in this case, the experience gained from creeps is not divided in half with another ally. This is a character who sets the pace of the game, and wins time for his carry.Offline - 3rd position:
The third priority for gold farming. Usually, this is some kind of dense hero who will go to initiate fights first and absorb all the damage. It stands on a difficult line with partial support against the enemy carrier and its full support.Partial and Full support - 4th and 5th position:
Farm is given to them last. Usually have the lowest level. They do everything to make the offlainer and kerry feel comfortable on the line, put wards and bring consumables.Gold Farm
Every 30 seconds, a wave of creeps moves from the T3 structure, for killing which you get money and experience. If there are 2 people on the line, then the experience with killing creeps is divided in half, which is why miders have a level advantage at the initial stage of the game, since they stand without support. After some time, players acquire initial items and can shift to farm forest camps with creeps that are revived every minute. If you learn how to correctly combine farm forests and lines, you can quickly gain the necessary advantage, buy the right things and finish the game. In total, there are 28 neutral camps on the entire map.
If you are killed by opponents, you slow down your pace and lose some of the earned gold. This is especially important when playing carry. Be able to find a safe farm so as not to die and not lose the advantage.
Purchase of basic items
There are so-called peaks of power. The character buys a thing that will help in victory and goes to implement it. Items depend on the role and the hero. This is how support buys things to protect allies, and Kerry buys slots that will help break enemy buildings as quickly as possible.Killing objects
The main action for victory. On each line there are 3 taverns (T1, T2, T3), which protect the main building, called the Throne. The game ends when the Throne of one of the teams falls. These are the main aspects of the Dota 2 game. Having mastered them, you will already understand the game by 50%, because the very base is set out here. Of course, this is not all, and there is still not a small part of what needs to be sorted out, but we will deal with this in the following guides. Good luck to everyone!
